With a wide range of activities including arts and crafts, imaginative play and physical activities.

Why Cheeky Cherubs Childcare

I (Alisa) currently hold a level 5 foundation degree in Children, Young people & their families. I have provided over 7 years experience in an outstanding nursery in which i was a senior member of staff and have one child of my own aged 2. Now I have chosen this career to look after children from my home. I have always believed that the first few years of a child’s life are the most important and although parents have to go to work, children at such a young age will thrive much more in a homely environment. Also I can be very flexible with my opening and closing hours providing notice is given.

Our Facilities

Our homely environment is the perfect place for your child to learn and progress through their young years.

Currently we have signed up for an allotment plot to get a space for the children to start growing their own vegetables. All our activities will follow the EYFS and mainly the three prime areas (Communication & Language, Physical Development, Personal – Social & Emotional Development)

Each child will have their own learning journey that will be made up of photos and comments throughout their time at Cheeky Cherubs Childcare and this will be sent home with them when they leave.

EYFS – 7 Areas of Learning

The areas shown in the picture combine together to make up the skills, knowledge and experiences that babies and children acquire as they grow, learn and develop. The prime areas are Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Physical Development and Communication and Language. These are fundamental because they work together to support development in the other areas. The developmental statements in these areas help practitioners to identify and plan for the children’s individual interests and abilities.

Our Activities

At Cheeky Cherubs Childcare we have a large variety of different activities. Following on from the EYFS (7 Areas of learning) we have put together different activities for our children to do allowing them to get the vital skills that they will need in their later life.

All activities will improve a variety of different skills, one of the main ones is Makatron. This gives our children the ability to talk and communicate in sign language.

Playing Together

A lot of the communication skills come from playing together with other children. Following on from our activities we let our children learn through playing thus building up great relationships with other children.

We also complete the Forest School Approach, this allows a child to learn on their own and also with friends building a great bond between friendship and Independence.

Sensory Play

Developing a child is very important and improving as many skills as possible whilst a nursery will help them once they move up to a school. At Cheeky Cherubs Childcare we engage the children to help  learn vitally important sensory attributes (hot, cold, sticky, dry, etc.) by touching different objects.

Our Aims

We are committed to ensuring the highest quality education for each child within a secure and welcoming environment. We are passionate in ensuring that each individual child is encouraged, challenged and supported to become lifelong inquirers with a love of learning.

  • To provide a welcoming, homely environment where all children feel happy and safe
  • To recognise that every child is an individual and to help them to develop confidently and happily
  • To monitor all areas of the development, ensure each individual has met their needs and is given the opportunity to reach their full potential
  • To encourage good habits of hygiene and health and demonstrate kindness to others
  • To work together with parents for the best outcomes for each child

To put your mind at rest we like to put the safety of your children right at the top of our minds. Every child will always be well monitored and if anything grows to concern you will be informed as quickly as possible.

We want to make sure your child enjoys and feels at home in our care. Making sure your child engages in all our activities and is always walking around with a smile on their face.

Following EYFS we want to make sure your child has the best chance of learning and developing new skills. We recognise that early experiences lay the foundation to your child’s self-esteem, interaction and motivation. Therefore we are focused on nurturing and fostering positive experiences to support your child’s development every step of the way.

Your children’s education and wellfare are our main priorities
